ABOUT
Restorative Practices is a social technology that utilizes strategies of inclusiveness, accountability, relationship building, and group decision making in order to build and maintain healthy communities, increase social capital, resolve conflict, repair harm, and restore relationships.
Restorative Solutions provides you with strategies and the structure to start, incorporate or strengthen restorative practices in your “community”. We define community as schools, workplaces, organizations, communities, and systems where people need to be connected for a common purpose to achieve a common goal.
Whether you are simply exploring how incorporating restorative practices in your school community or organization could work, starting a restorative practices program, or strengthening and enhancing your existing restorative practices, Restorative Solutions is here to assist.
WHAT WE OFFER
Restorative Solutions provides professional development for schools and organizations in:
Proactive restorative practices for those who work with young people
Reactive restorative justice training and technical assistance for organizations and schools who are shifting from a retribu-*tive justice framework to a restorative one.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR SCHOOLS AND YOUTH PROGRAMS
A Comprehensive Approach
Having a connected school or program community fosters a sense of belonging and lowers the number of behavior-related incidents that lead to office referrals, suspensions, expulsions and arrests.
We assist you by providing engaging professional learning opportunities and guide you in developing an effective restorative practice strategy that fits your community’s needs.
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE TRAINING
The Work of Wholeness
Restorative Justice requires a shift from a retributive mindset to a restorative mindset. In this work, humanization, wholeness, and the engagement of human dignity is prioritized.
Our professional development programs are tailored to engage what we call the 3 P's: Policy, Philosophy (mindset), and Practice (implementation).
Restorative Solutions utilizes the Community Conferencing model as the restorative justice tool to resolve and repair harm stemming from an incident or conflict.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Expert Guidance
Whether you are simply exploring what restorative practices are, starting a restorative program or need help with an existing program, Restorative Solutions is here to assist you with your program. We work in conjunction with you to tailor a program that fits within the perimeters of your community. We are here to help you find the right restorative solution.

TESTIMONIALS
What's Being Said
Malene brings a level of comfort to her
audience unlike anything I’ve seen before. Her ability to build an immediate and real
connection to others is remarkable. Malene’s passion for building relationships is evidenced by
her strong, yet gentle approach in supporting school communities. During my work with
Malene over the past 2 years, she has been the driving force behind a major mindset shift of my
staff and myself. I’ve been impressed time and time again with her compassionate approach to
working with children and schools. Her commitment to this initiative is real and genuine.
Malene is a tremendous educator, role model, and human. I am proud to know her, work
alongside her, and continue to learn from her at every opportunity.
Genna, Baltimore County Public Schools
... Ms. Bell worked tirelessly to coach and facilitate Restorative Practices within
the school. She assisted me in planning a retreat in which we launched the initiative with my faculty and
staff and conferred on strategic adjustments to implementation over multiple years. She provided on-
going professional learning throughout multiple years to grow the capacity of our faculty and staff. And
perhaps most significantly, she routinely facilitated Restorative Dialogues among our students to grow
their capacity. The collective impact of her work, helped to reduce our violence rate by 93% within an 18
month timeframe. What I learned most as a leader from my experience using restorative practices is
that in the absence of a system for peace, the opposite will prevail. Ms. Bell was critical leader in helping
our school construct a system for peace.

I’m a strong supporter of Restorative Conferencing and have personally seen the benefits. Nicole Glass is the ultimate professional and an expert in conferencing. She conferenced a very critical work situation and negotiated an agreement that we are still reaping the benefits. Nicole is one of my heroes.

“I was glad to hear it [Restorative Practices] could be used in the workplace as my spouse is on the Board of Directors of an agency and they are meeting now trying to address a situation.”
"...I enjoy helping people that are impacted by injustices and a guest speaker you invited to speak to us really moved me. While listening to Nicole Glass talk about what she does and how that helps children learn through their mistakes, made me want to get my masters in Social Work."
